El próximo 17 de mayo, el Teatro El Ensueño será el escenario de una noche dedicada al metal colombiano, con la presentación de tres destacadas bandas: Twilight Glimmer, Espías Malignos y Threshold End. Cada una con una sólida trayectoria, estas agrupaciones representan distintas vertientes del metal extremo, ofreciendo un recorrido por la potencia, el legado y la evolución del género en el país. Twilight Glimmer, banda de death metal formada en Pereira en 1998, ha construido una carrera destacada por su calidad técnica y lírica. Con discos como Paradox (2002), Mindusk (2004), In-Fested (2008), Indignation (2013) e Ignition (2022), su música ha cruzado fronteras y compartida tarima con referentes como Vader, Suffocation y Marduk, incluyendo su paso por Rock al Parque en 2011. Espías Malignos, surgida en 2020 como homenaje al clásico EP de Darkness, es una banda con raíces profundas en la historia del metal nacional. La agrupación nace como una fusión entre generaciones: Rodrigo Vargas, ex-Darkness, se une a Diego R. Cruz (Misticia, Battle, Ánima), consolidando una formación que rescata la crudeza del thrash de los ochenta y la combina con elementos contemporáneos. Por su parte, Threshold End, activa desde 1998 en Bogotá, ha evolucionado hacia un death metal más denso y técnico, con discos como In the Jaws of Curse (2015) y The Ominous Inception (2022), consolidándose como una de las propuestas más sólidas del metal nacional.
